PLAYOFF PREVIEW: BRANTFORD (6) vs FORT ERIE (3)

BRANTFORD, ONTARIO – Coming off their best regular season finish in franchise history, the Brantford Titans are headed into the postseason as the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference and they will take on the Fort Erie Meteors in round one of the 2026 GOHL Playoffs.

This will be the first time in GOHL/GOJHL history that Brantford and Fort Erie will hook up in the postseason. The Titans advanced to the Eastern Conference Semifinals last season and fell to the St. Catharines Falcons in four games while the Meteors fell four games to two in the Eastern Conference finals, also to the Falcons. The Meteors took the season series with the Titans 4-0 and outscored Brantford 23-7.

The Titans enter the playoffs with a 4-4-0-2 record in their final ten games of the regular season. That included their 20th victory of the season to tie a franchise record for wins in a single season. The Titans also set a record for most goals scored in a single season with 170. This surpasses the previous record of 156 goals scored which was achieved last season. Quinton Kim-Lemay led the team in scoring this season, recording 49 points (11-38) in 50 games played. Kaleb Frank led the team in goals with 25 and power play goals with 7. The Titans two 16 year old defencemen also shined bright this season, following in the footsteps of Patrick Babin who had a record setting season with the Titans last year as a 16 year old. David Buchman was a late addition to the Titans roster this season and started producing immediately. Buchman finished the season with 8 goals and 21 assists for a total of 29 points in 28 games. Gavin Christie was not far behind as he finished the regular season with 7 goals and 20 assists for 27 points in 38 games.

Fort Erie finished with an 8-2-0-0 record down the stretch, solidifying themselves in the third place position in the Eastern Conference. The Meteors were led by Sam Tonelli who took home the Pat Murphy Memorial Award as the GOHL’s regular season scoring champ (88 PTS). Despite losing goaltender Finn Moffat to the QMJHL midway through the season, the Meteors signed Rafael Tremblay who picked up right where Moffat left off. Tremblay finished the season with a record of 11-2-0-0 and had a 1.93 GAA and a .934 SV%.

Game 1 between the Meteors and Titans goes on Saturday, March 14th at 7:00pm at the Fort Erie Leisureplex.
