KINGSTON, ONTARIO – June 13th, 2026 was a very special day in Kingston, Ontario for the Vanacker family as they got to hear their family name called for the second time at an OHL Priority Selection. Following in the footsteps of his brother Marek, Roman Vanacker is ready to make his mark in the OHL as he was selected by the Kingston Frontenacs in the second round; 23rd overall.
Roman had one heck of a season for the U16 AAA Brantford 99ers hockey club. He scored 30 goals and added 40 assists for a total of 70 points in 30 games played. His 40 assists in the Alliance U16 loop was the most by qualified skaters. He continued to put on a show in the playoffs, racking up 18 points (10 goals & 8 assists) in 11 games.
Vanacker appeared in 1 game with the Brantford Titans this past season.
